The League

A women's football league built for every woman who wants to play

The She Kicks Football League is one of India's few private, multi-city football leagues built for women, open to all skill levels. It is a long-duration league played six-a-side today and growing toward a full eleven-a-side format, so a first-timer and a serious footballer can both find a competitive game.

A private, multi-city football league built for women

Ask most women in this country where they can actually play organised football and the honest answer is nowhere obvious. There are places to train and places to watch, but very few where a woman can turn up, be put in a team, and compete for something that lasts. The She Kicks Football League exists to close that gap. It is a professional women's football league in intent, a female football league in reach, and a community in feel, created by Aditi Chauhan so that the love of the game finally has a serious home for women here.

When Aditi revived the She Kicks Football League, the idea she kept returning to was simple: give girls who aspire to go professional a real competition to be seen in, and give everyone else a reason to keep playing. That is the whole point of the league.

"Inclusivity is not something that can be achieved simply by saying the right things. It requires meaningful actions and a strong commitment to making it a reality."

How the league is played

The format is built to grow with the players in it. Right now the league is played six-a-side, a fast and welcoming way in that keeps everyone involved in the game, and the plan is to expand toward a full eleven-a-side format as more teams and cities join. There is no fixed number of teams, so the competition stretches to fit those who want to play. What stays constant is the structure: a proper league, run properly.

Round-robin

Each team plays every other team twice across the league, so results are earned over time, not on one lucky day.

Three points for a win, one for a draw and none for a loss, with the top of the table crowned champion.

When two teams finish level on points, goal difference between them decides who places higher.

Matches run to two short halves either side of a break, quick enough to keep the intensity high.

When a woman looks for a league she can actually play in

The first thing anyone serious about the game types is some version of a women's football league near me, and for a long time that search came back empty. She Kicks is answering it the honest way, by actually turning up in more than one city. The league is multi-city by design, with fixtures across hubs that include Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Kolkata, so a ladies football league is no longer something that happens only somewhere else. As more sponsors and teams come on board, that footprint keeps widening.

Delhi

Where the wider She Kicks story began.

Mumbai

Competitive game time on the west coast.

Bengaluru

A growing base of women who play.

Kolkata

Football country, and now a women's stage.

Serving more than one city is deliberate. A national women's football league cannot be built from a single ground, and the players who most need this, in tier two and tier three cities as much as the metros, are exactly the ones a one-venue competition leaves out. If you are looking for a female football league near you, the honest next step is to ask us where the nearest fixtures are.

What the league gives you, and what to bring

Playing in the league should feel like being looked after, not left to fend for yourself. The organisers handle the things that make a match day safe and worth turning up for, so all a player has to worry about is her football and the people she brings to cheer her on.

  • event_note A match schedule and rules sheet, so everyone knows the fixtures and how the game is run.

A league that feeds a professional pathway

The league is competitive on its own terms, but it is also a door. Every round is watched, and the players who stand out are pointed toward the rest of the She Kicks ecosystem, so a good performance on a Sunday can become the start of a career. This is where a women pro football league stops being a slogan and starts being a route a real person can walk.

Climb toward the top

The strongest earn a place at the She Kicks Football Club and compete up the divisions.

This is not a promise on paper. A She Kicks player has already gone on to sign for a top tier club competing in the Indian Women's League, India's top division, and the AFC Championships, proof that the road from a local fixture to the professional game can be travelled. Aditi has used the same platform to call for the structural and cultural reforms Indian women's football needs, while committing to develop the next generation through the league itself.

Play for good

This league keeps score off the pitch too. Fifteen percent of its net profits go straight to The Aditi Chauhan Foundation, backing promising female footballers who are chasing a career in the game whatever their financial or social background. Every team that enters and every match played funds that work, so here a result is never just a result.
